I have a beef with writers on this platform using free images they find on Unsplash. This is just plain lazy.

Writers on this platform are all trying to make a buck by writing and publishing stories here.

Yet you use free images from Unsplash to illustrate your stories. A true case of, “By All Means Necessary.”

Everyone writing on this platform has a smart phone. A device capable of creating unique images. So why do you exploit images from Unsplash?

You write stories in the hope of making a few bucks. Do you ever share those bucks with the one who created the image that illustrates your story? No, I didn’t think so.

No, you hit the publish button and pray readers will find your story interesting, readers who will hit the clap button, readers who will leave you a kind comment.

After you press the ‘publish’ button, do you ever give a second thought to the photographer who created the image, that illustrates your story? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Did you ever consider that the photo, from the ‘free’ Unsplash image you chose, might be the only reason folks were clicking on your story? Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
