After Several Days Of Blanco Y Negro, My Camera Asked For Some Gentle Color

After several days of bright sun and shooting monochrome views, my camera asked for some soft color this morning. She’s such a sweet gal, and so good to me always, I did not question her simple request. In truth I felt the same.

It was a sunny Sunday morning. Still our eyes were feeling soft, so we stayed on the shady side of the streets throughout our walk today.

We stepped into the moment with this rather subdued graffiti on a locked steel door. Even Avenida de la Independencia, one of the busiest streets in Oaxaca, had a quiet feel this morning. We were both happy about this.

After walking up the steps into the Soledad Cathedral plaza we spied this quiet view. It was an easy shot. The play of shadows on the steps and darkened doorway offered such obvious framing.

A simple twist of the focus ring and a snap of the shutter, and we were on our way. Both smiling at how simple life can be. The rest of the morning followed this easy approach to doing what we love to do.
