There is the occasional day I step out the door in the morning without the camera hanging from my shoulder. Though I never leave home without my phone in my back pocket.

This is not so I always have a camera with me. It is because I want to track my mileage. I also often want to make notes while I sit drinking coffee, in some cafe. A tip of my hat, to those who recognize this bit of song lyric.

Looking at the health data on my phone today, I walk an average of 2.85 miles a day. This data tells me I have covered 610 miles on foot, since setting said foot in Oaxaca. I will admit this total comes as a shock. I also know my heart is happy, in more ways than one.

For a quick comparison, I have ridden in a taxi a total of five times since my arrival. The first was from the airport. The other four were when I moved from one location to another. Two thumbs up for walking!

Yes, that was a long winded introduction to this story. I accept full responsibility for every word. Thanks for staying with me.
