Shadows on the gate.

Before I even got out the steel gate, this view called out. Rather it screamed out. No need to ask quietly, when an image wants to be made, and right now. Who was I to say, “No.”

Shadows on the wall, or the gate in this case, are my weakness. Or might they be my strength? This is a debate my ego can engage some other time. Right now I have new images to make.

This view of the gate tells me there are more awaiting my lens, and my eye. Best to move on and not leave any of the possibilities waiting. My experience tells me if I ask them to wait too long, they will just up, and disappear. Funny how that goes.

Blossom above eaten leaf.

A delicate blossom perched on an insect eaten leaf won’t last long. If this leaf tasted good, the blossom is soon to follow. The damn insects have no mercy, nor aesthetics.

They wouldn’t know beauty if it slapped them upside the head. Do insects even have heads? A least heads that can think? I somehow have the notion that reasoning is beyond them. It’s pure instinct that drives them. Have mercy on the poor creatures.
