It was a cool Saturday morning here in Oaxaca Centro. I was out early, my camera eager to explore the streets. Neither of us were disappointed.

Just before finding these two fallen blossoms I was having my morning latte at Cafe Brujula.

While writing morning thoughts on my phone, I noticed a woman across the courtyard looking my way. I made a mental note, but didn’t give it much thought.

A bit later I was walking towards the door and glanced her way. She was again looking at me, we both smiled and I was on my way. Stepping out onto the sidewalk I smiled to myself thinking . . . there was some bit of attraction back there. At seventy this is not a common occurrence. I smiled bigger this time.

Not two minutes later I saw these two fallen blossoms resting on a concrete bench. My camera was eager to make their portrait. I realized the image I was framing was a lovely metaphor for what had just transpired at the cafe. I was happy to have a visual record of a sweet moment in time.
