I left the house this morning with the intent to photograph the oddities that caught my eye and lens. It was also my intent to allow the the living color of this city to express itself in all its glory. Oaxaca is a funny place in this way.

Not far from home, a kiddie carnival is set up in a nearby small park. I have walked by this scene on several occasions. What gives here?

What is a busty redhead named “Bichota” doing promoting a kiddie ride? To be honest, I haven’t a clue. I can only shake my head and wonder at the mixed message. WTF?

A few steps beyond Bichota, I walk below my favorite convex mirror. It is perched high up on a wall, tilted downward to catch pedestrians like me.

I have walked by, and under, this mirror many times. This morning the bright blue sky lured me in. Though perhaps I was still under the spell of Bichota?

I checked the translate app on my phone, and there is no translation for Bichota. Perhaps I am reading too much into this curious name. Could it just be another word for…
