In A Sepia State Of Mind
A Gray Day Calling For A Bit Of Extra Warmth
It has been a long stretch of gray days in Oaxaca. It is all part of the rainy season. Most of this year’s season has included several hours of sunshine each day, often in the mornings.
Apparently, storms in the eastern Pacific have been impacting our weather.
The good part is, I love all this cloudy weather. When the sun is hiding, I feel like I get to shine a little brighter. I learned this while living in western Oregon in the late 1980s.
I prefer photographing on cloudy days. The soft light is more in tune with how I see the world through my lens.
While looking for images to include in today’s story, I knew I wanted monochromes. At the same time, I was yearning for a bit of warmth. Actually more than a bit. I wanted warm juicy images.
I rarely edit photos in pure black and white. I almost always add at least a little warmth. This is more in tune with how I see my world. Today I was craving dreamy warm views, so I dialed up the sepia.
