I agree with all you have written in this well reasoned piece. I have thought for months that there are actually many Republican Senators willing to convict. That just cannot play their hands, nor telegraph their intentions, until the final vote. Trump’s awful threat about their ‘heads on a pike’ should be incentive enough to convict. I truly hope we are both right.
