The music began softly, in the early evening light. Dreams of this melody followed in the overnight darkness. Stepping out into the bright light of a new morning, the volume was turned up to six, or maybe seven.

An infatuation with this simple patio is ongoing, from dawn to dusk. The light and shadows moving with the sun. Never the same from moment to moment.

A darkened bunker rises in the northeast corner, like a lookout tower. It has never divulged what it is, that’s being looked for, or perhaps looked after.

This simple rectangular frame is a stand in for, an automatic clothes drier. There are two versions of this rack on the patio. Friday is laundry day here.

Near midmorning these racks begin to fill. By mid afternoon they are both full of clothes on hangers. A colorful sight indeed. One that smiles with quiet accomplishment.

By early evening they are empty once again until the next Friday. During the other six days of the week, they quietly frame the view, of the rough plastered wall.
