September has been marked by subtle changes to the light, and weather in Oaxaca City. Looking back through my camera roll, I find many images that never found a home in my stories here.

This small collection is all about color. The colors that make Oaxaca a feast for the eyes, for the soul. It is the lovely colors that ties this group together. It is these ever present colors that fill my heart every day.

The covered trunk above was sitting on the sidewalk outside of a shop near the Santo Domingo Cathedral. I’ve no idea why it was wrapped in this vibrant cover. It was the combination of primary colors that called to my lens. That and the mystery of it standing on the sidewalk.

Verdant plants growing in front of an abode on the street.

This scene is along Calle Rufino Tamayo. This is a path I often walk between Xochimilco where I live, and Oaxaca Centro, where I like to hang out in small cafes, drinking coffee and watching the color of life passing by.

This image quietly says Oaxaca to me in many ways. The white washed wall, the ancient curved tile on the roof, and the verdant moss growing on the clay tiles.
