They Just Might Scare You, Or Make You Giggle

I spend a lot of time walking the streets of Oaxaca with my camera. I am always on the look out for interesting photos. My version of interesting covers a wide range of subjects.

Today I’m talking about the fashion mannequins used to sell low end clothing to both men and women. They are always out on the sidewalk or in the doorways. You can’t miss them. I guess that’s the point.

These both intrigue, and at times scare me in a funny sort of way. They always bring a silly smile. I mean really, a pasted on mohawk? The proof is in the picture.

These two gals are standing in the doorway of this shop. Their twin wigs are nearly the same, except the one in front has pink hair, while the other is a blonde.

Their lifelike poses look like two friends shopping the afternoon away. These outfits are sold for under a hundred pesos. That’s less than five U.S. dollars. Seems there is a market for everything here.
