Last week I stepped through the double locked, steel gate that separates my walled courtyard from the street. I turned the keys in both locks and was ready to begin my morning walk, the camera strap resting easy on my shoulder.

I walked that first block and made a sudden choice. Where I normally turn left, I made a quick right turn. My feet have become street smart so I followed their change of plan.

Moments later we all stopped to take in this scene. Happy with the choice my feet had made, I set the camera free to do her thing. This arrangement of quiet geometries told me we were off to a great start.

A block and a half later, geometry was replaced by dancing grasses. I am not sure who was smiling biggest, me or my camera, it hardly matters when offered a view like this.

The rhythm of the breeze was in perfect alignment with the cosmos. The air was still cool and these spindly friends put on a touching performance.
