I Fall More In Love With Photography

It’s true, on both counts. I do fall more in love with Oaxaca each day. Each day I am eager to get up, eager to get out and greet the new day. Eager to make new pictures. And with each new photo I fall more in love with the practice of photography. Yes, it is possible.

Each day, I know I will experience new things about this wonderful city. Walking will make it so. Making new pictures, makes it so as well.

Looking at the mud bricks, behind the broken plaster above, I am reminded of the long history of of both Xochimilco, and greater Oaxaca de Juarez.

Oaxaca de Juarez celebrated its 490th anniversary on the April 25th this year. This colorful history began in 1532. That’s a lot of history to experience and explore. And I’m taking it in, one day at a time. One photograph at a time.

Each day I find new treasure, and new joy. Each day I make new photographs. Some are stunning. Some are banal. It makes little difference to my heart, nor to my camera.
