Agaves, Murals, And Chocolate
Walking In A Stream Of Consciousness, In Xochimilco
I walked past three Agaves with bright red tips. This was a first. It was also a delight. My immediate thought was, Wow, Agaves with red fingernail polish!
A little later I was looking at Instagram and ran across a post about Mescal from Oaxaca. It said there are something like 46 different varieties of Agave in the state. Mescal is made from Agaves.
They each leave their individual signature on the spirits made from them. The spirit of spirits, so to speak.
I have no idea about the Mescal this red tipped variety might produce. Though its red spirit left its signature, on my red heart.
There is one small street nearby where all the walls are wearing monochrome murals. Very graphic murals displaying playful geometries.
My deeply rooted, monochromatic sensibilities, delighted in the visual conversations going on between these neighboring expressions. They were obviously having a good time.
