Water continues to flow through the Xochimilco Aqueduct. Ten days ago the flow seemed to lessen with each new day. I wondered how long it would last.

A local inhabitant told me at the time we would not see water flowing until next year’s rainy season. The weather proved him wrong.

From the street level there are several series of steps that lead down to the stream bed. Along the way there were views that caught my eye this morning.

All looked damp and lush from the daily afternoon rains. The colors were saturated with moisture. My lens was drawn to the damp scenes. The patterns and textures becoming lush with depth and definition.

The verdant greens enhance the natural tones of weathered stone. The patterns etched by weather and time have stories to tell. An interpreter is optional.
