Welcome to Barrio de la Noria, my new home for the next five weeks. As you will see, it is a very colorful neighborhood, with plenty of grit and earthiness to keep a constant smile on my face.

Perhaps this explains why I have been at a loss for words to type here. This cloudy afternoon it finally dawned on me as to why. It’s because I had not made new images in a spell. Without new pictures to prompt them, my fingers refused to cooperate.

I am certain that Joni must have thought I had abandoned her. When I stepped out the gate earlier, and looked through the viewfinder for the first time in days, I was quickly reminded how rusty I was.

I apologized to Joni for neglecting her. Though she remained distant until I pressed her shutter button a dozen times or more. It was clear I had hurt her feelings. I apologized again. I also knew all the bright colors would cheer her up.
